On June 30, 2016, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development of Vietnam issued Circular No. 25/2016/TT-BNNPTNT providing for the quarantine of terrestrial animals and animal products.
According to Circular No. 25/2016/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development of Vietnam, marking the imported and exported cattle as follows:
- The imported and exported cattle must be marked with plastic ear tag on the inside of their right ear.
- The yellow ear tag; there must be the code and number of the cattle on the tag;
- The code and number of cattle consist of the code of animal quarantine body at the border gate of the Department of Animal Health; code of province; year of issuing ear tag and number of cattle.
- The ink used to write the code and number of cattle on the ear tag is specified under the Point c, Paragraph 1, Article 21 of this Circular.
- The way to write the code and number of cattle on ear tag is specified as follows:
+ The upper line consists of the code of imported and exported animal quarantine body; 02 (two) next digits as the code of province (place of animal quarantine for import and export or place of departure for exported cattle); 02 (two) last digits are the 02 (two) last digits of the year of issuing ear tag.
+ The lower line is the number of the cattle (from 000001 to 999999).
- After being quarantined, the cattle must ensure the veterinary sanitary requirements, the animal quarantine body shall make a list of code and number of cattle with the Certificate of quarantine of animals.
