Scientific appraisal of evaluating the training level of athletes: What does this entail?

Circular 03/2015/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates that scientific assessment to evaluate the training level of athletes (hereinafter referred to as scientific assessment) involves the use of scientific methods, professional techniques, and measuring equipment to comprehensively check and evaluate the training level of athletes.

To be specific::

- Scientific assessment activities are carried out according to the plan approved by the General Department of Sports to serve the purpose of checking and evaluating the training level of athletes, researching, and applying scientific and technological solutions to the training process of athletes and other activities related to sports.- The General Department of Sports decides the list of outstanding athletes and the list of athletes preparing to participate in the Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games), the Asian Games (ASIAD), and the World Games (Olympics) to conduct scientific assessment.

In addition, the Circular also stipulates the health check of athletes as follows:

- The health check of athletes aims to evaluate health and illness to determine the conditions for participating in sports training and competition.- Health checks are applied to athletes belonging to national teams; athletes belonging to sports teams of provinces, centrally governed cities, sectors, and sports training and coaching institutions.
