The Government of Vietnam issued Decree 148/2006/ND-CP stipulating the regulations on the Safety Belt and the planning, construction, management, and protection of the Safety Belt for ammunition depots, explosives, and factories producing ammunition and explosives (referred to as the Depot Safety Belt).

Noteworthy is the regulation on the safety radius of ammunition depots as follows:

(1) For depots under the Ministry of Defense and depots under the military region, army corps, services, arms, naval regions and equivalents: From 1,200 meters to 1,500 meters.

(2) For depots under divisions, provincial-level depots, centrally governed cities and equivalents: From 800 meters to 1,000 meters;

(3) For depots under brigades, regiments, districts, towns, ammunition production plants, explosive material factories and equivalents: The Ministry of Defense has specific regulations.

In cases where there are mountains surrounding and shielding the depots' perimeter fences, if a straight line is drawn from the lowest mountain peak to the foundation of the furthest warehouse wall forming an angle greater than 45 degrees with the warehouse floor, then the distances for depots under cases (1) and (2) are allowed to be reduced by 50%.
