Regulations on the Maximum Prices of Medical Quarantine Services at Public Healthcare Facilities

On November 11, 2016, the Minister of Finance issued Circular 240/2016/TT-BTC stipulating the maximum price levels for medical quarantine services and preventive health services at public healthcare facilities.

The Circular applies to public medical facilities providing services, organizations, and individuals using medical quarantine services, preventive healthcare, and other relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals.

The maximum price for medical quarantine and preventive healthcare services at public medical facilities is issued along with the Appendix. In cases where the price is specified in U.S. Dollars, it will be converted to Vietnamese Dong at the buying exchange rate via bank transfer of the head office of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade.

The price for medical quarantine and preventive healthcare services is exclusive of value-added tax as defined in Clause 9, Article 5 of the Law on Value-Added Tax and amending and supplementing documents.

Circular 240/2016/TT-BTC takes effect on January 1, 2017, and replaces Circular 08/2014/TT-BTC.
