On November 16, 2018, the Ministry of Health issued Circular 34/2018/TT-BYT stipulating specific regulations on the distribution and receipt of vaccines.
Circular 34 stipulates the issuance and reception of vaccines as follows:
- When issuing vaccines, the issuer must check and retain information at the issuance unit. If any abnormalities related to the vaccine information are detected, both parties must draft a report on the actual status of the vaccines and handle it according to regulations.- When receiving vaccines, the recipient must check and retain information and must not accept the vaccines if there are any abnormalities related to the vaccine information.
Additionally, Circular 34 also stipulates the storage of vaccines during vaccination sessions as follows:
- Use vaccine flasks, cold boxes, or refrigerators to store vaccines throughout the vaccination session in accordance with regulations and ensure the temperature is maintained between +2°C to +8°C.- Unopened vaccine vials after the vaccination session should continue to be stored in cold chain equipment and be used first at the next vaccination session.
