Regulations on issuance, replacement, and revocation of Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card (Illustrative image)

Decree 59/2008/ND-CP regulates the issuance, replacement, and revocation of Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card as follows:

- Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card shall be issued or replaced when it is worn out or when the officer, non-commissioned officer has changes in:

- Position: from staff to leadership, commander; from deputy level to chief level; from lower-level leadership, commander to higher-level leadership, commander and vice versa;

- Rank: from non-commissioned officer to junior officer; from junior officer to senior officer; from senior officer to general officer and vice versa;

- Unit, operational area.

- Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card must be revoked when the officer, non-commissioned officer of the Vietnam People's Public Security retires, transfers the industry, is discharged, or is stripped of the title of Vietnam People's Public Security.

- The order, procedures, and authority for the issuance, replacement, and revocation of Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card are the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Security, which shall organize the production, and issuance of forms, and guide the order, procedures, and authority for the issuance, replacement, and revocation of Vietnam People's Public Security ID Card in accordance with the law.
