If the husband engages in acts of forbidding or preventing his wife from visiting her parents, including during the 2019 Lunar New Year (Tet Nguyen Dan Ky Hoi), with the intention of causing consistent psychological pressure on the wife, he shall be subject to penalties.
This is a notable content highlighted in Decree 167/2013/ND-CP stipulating the sanction of administrative violations in the fields of security, order, social safety; prevention of social evils; fire prevention and fighting; and anti-domestic violence.
To be specific, according to Clause 1 Article 52 of Decree 167/2013/ND-CP, any act of preventing a family member from exercising the right to work; forbidding a family member from leaving the house, preventing a family member from meeting relatives, friends, or engaging in legitimate and healthy social relationships for the purpose of isolation and causing frequent psychological pressure on that member, shall be subject to administrative sanctions with a fine ranging from VND 100,000 to VND 300,000 for each violation.
If the husband acts to forbid or prevent his wife from visiting her parents, even during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Pig 2019, aiming to cause frequent psychological pressure on his wife, he will face the aforementioned penalty.
Conversely, if the wife forbids the husband from meeting relatives and friends with the aim of causing frequent psychological pressure on the husband, she will face a similar penalty.
Article 52. Acts of isolation, expulsion, or frequent psychological pressure 1. Warning or fine ranging from VND 100,000 to VND 300,000 for one of the following acts: a) Forbidding a family member from leaving the house, preventing a family member from meeting relatives, friends, or engaging in legitimate and healthy social relationships for the purpose of isolation and causing frequent psychological pressure on that member; b) Preventing a family member from exercising the right to work; c) Preventing a family member from participating in legitimate and healthy social activities. |
