On May 8, 2013, the Ministry of Education and Training issued Circular 17/2013/TT-BGDDT concerning the framework program for professional intermediate level education in the following industry groups: Food processing and beverages; Fiber, textile, footwear, leather production and processing; Other production and processing.
Program for the Technical Secondary Education in Tropical Plant Product Processing (Illustration)
Circular 17/2013/TT-BGDDT stipulates the framework program for the professional technical secondary education in Tropical Plant Product Processing Technology. It is designed to train technicians specialized in the technology of processing tropical plant products, with ethics and professional conscience, cooperative attitude with colleagues, the ability to work independently, respect for the law and workplace regulations, and good health to facilitate job-seeking opportunities and further learning, meeting the socio-economic development requirements.
The main content of the course includes fundamental knowledge and skills in processing and preserving tropical plant products; machinery and equipment for processing tropical plant products; quality testing of products; production organization and management, and supporting knowledge and skills in technology for processing tropical plant products such as: technical electricity, physical chemistry, biochemistry, analytical chemistry, microbiology, food safety and hygiene. Learners are also equipped with basic knowledge and skills in information technology, foreign languages, physical education, politics, law, national defense, and security.
Upon graduation, learners become technicians in the field of Tropical Plant Product Processing Technology at the professional technical secondary level; they can perform basic techniques in the processing technology of some tropical plant products; analyze, evaluate, and control simple quality and hygiene indicators of products; are capable of organizing and guiding workers and farmers in some basic techniques in the technology of processing tropical plant products. Graduates can work at enterprises, state units, private organizations, and other facilities involved in the management, production, and business of tropical plant products, and can continue their studies at college and university levels.
