On March 10, 2018, the Ministry of National Defense issued Circular 24/2018/TT-BQP amending and supplementing several Articles of Circular 17/2016/TT-BQP detailing and guiding the implementation of recruitment into Military schools and Circular 42/2017/TT-BQP amending and supplementing several Articles of Circular 17/2016/TT-BQP.
Circular 24 has amended the regulations on cultural standards and age eligibility for admission to Military schools, specifically the new regulations are as follows:
1. Cultural Standards
- As of the time of application review, candidates must have graduated from high school (through formal education or continuing education) or have graduated from a professional intermediate school, vocational intermediate school (hereinafter abbreviated as high school graduation).- In the case of candidates who have graduated from an intermediate school but do not yet have a high school diploma, they must study and be recognized for completing the cultural subjects in the high school education program according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
2. Age, as of the year of application
- Non-military youth from 17 to 21 years old;- Soldiers on active duty or demobilized soldiers and citizens who have completed their obligation to participate in the people's police force from 18 to 23 years old.
