New Regulations on Level 1 Physical Facility Standards for Preschools

On May 26, 2020, the Ministry of Education and Training promulgated Circular 13/2020/TT-BGDDT which stipulates the standards for physical facilities of preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, high schools, and multi-level schools.

The preschools that meet the level 1 facility standards ensure compliance with the regulations in Article 6 of the "Standards for Facilities of Preschools, Elementary Schools, Secondary Schools, High Schools, and Multi-level Schools" issued along with Circular 13/2020/TT-BGDDT and the following regulations:

- Administrative Management Section

+ There are separate offices for the Principal and Vice Principals;

+ There are separate offices for administrative management work: ensuring there is 01 office; fully equipped with machinery and office equipment according to current regulations.

- Childcare, Nurturing, and Education Section

+ Physical education room, art education room: for schools with up to 14 groups or classes, there is at least 01 art education room and 01 physical education room; for schools with more than 14 groups or classes, there is at least 01 art education room, 01 physical education room, and 01 multipurpose room;

+ Separate playgrounds: arranged according to each group or class.

- Auxiliary Section: There is a garden specifically for children to explore and experience.

- The construction items stipulated in Clauses 1, 2, 3, 4 of Article 6 of this Regulation and Clauses 1, 2, 3 of this Article are built either permanently or semi-permanently. The rate of permanent constructions is not less than 70%.

- Each school site (if any) has no fewer than 02 groups or classes.

- Land Use Density

+ Construction area: not more than 40%;

+ Garden area (greenery, playground): not less than 40%;

+ Internal traffic area: not less than 20%.
