Minimum Knowledge Volume for College Level is 60 Credits

On April 20, 2017, the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 12/2017/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels.

Circular 12 stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge for intermediate level and college level as follows:

Intermediate Level

- The minimum amount of knowledge for the intermediate level is 35 credits for those with a high school diploma, and 50 credits for those with a secondary school diploma. The study duration ranges from 1 to 2 academic years, depending on the field and training profession.- The amount of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, depending on each field and training profession, must ensure the ratio: theory accounts for 25% - 45%; practice accounts for 55% - 75%.

College Level

- The minimum amount of knowledge for the college level is 60 credits and the study duration ranges from 2 to 3 academic years, depending on the field and training profession.- The amount of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, depending on each field and training profession, must ensure the ratio: theory accounts for 30% - 50%; practice accounts for 50% - 70%.
