On May 31, 2019, the Ministry of Health issued Circular 08/2019/TT-BYT providing guidelines on standards and norms for the use of machinery and specialized equipment in the healthcare sector.

According to the provisions of Circular 08/2019/TT-BYT, specialized machinery and equipment in the medical field are classified as follows:

- Machinery and equipment are considered specialized machinery and equipment in the medical field when they simultaneously meet the following conditions:

- They are medical equipment specified in Clause 2, Article 2 of Decree 36/2016/ND-CP on the management of medical equipment and Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree 169/2018/ND-CP amending and supplementing some articles of Decree 36/2016/ND-CP;- Meet the standards for fixed assets in accordance with policies for managing, calculating depreciation of fixed assets at the unit.

- Specialized machinery and equipment in the medical field include:

- Specialized medical equipment.- Other specialized medical equipment.
