Lunar New Year 2019: Officials and employees granted 9 consecutive days off
Duy Thinh

According to the provisions of the 2012 Labor Code and the actual timing situation, officials may have 9 consecutive days off during the 2019 Lunar New Year holiday. To be specific:

Pursuant to the provisions at Point b, Clause 1, Article 115 of the Labor Code 2012, employees are entitled to 05 days off with full pay during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday.

Additionally, the Lunar New Year holiday in 2019 falls around two weekends. Therefore, besides the 05 days off according to the law, officials will have an additional 4 days off for the weekends.

Thus, the total Tet holiday for officials is 9 days, starting from the 28th day of the Lunar Calendar Year of the Dog to the end of the 6th day of the Lunar Calendar Year of the Pig (i.e., from February 2, 2019, to February 10, 2019).
