License Plates for Automobiles and Motorcycles of Joint Ventures, Projects, Military Vehicles Engaging in Economic Activities

According to the provisions in Section 6 of Appendix 4 of Circular 15/2014/TT-BCA, amended and supplemented by Circular 64/2017/TT-BCA, license plates for cars and motorcycles of joint ventures, projects, and military vehicles used for economic purposes are as follows:

* Size of letters and numbers on the license plates of cars and motorcycles belonging to joint ventures, projects, military vehicles used for economic purposes, cars with limited operating areas, four-wheeled cargo vehicles with domestic assembly engines, special-purpose vehicles of the People's Police Force: same as foreign car and motorcycle license plates.

The license plate consists of specific groups of letters and numbers arranged as follows:

- The first two numbers are the locality code where the vehicle is registered (according to Appendix 02 issued with Circular No. 15/2014/TT-BCA) and the registration series as stipulated in Article 31 of Circular No. 15/2014/TT-BCA.

- The second group of numbers is the registration order of the vehicle including 05 natural numbers, from 000.01 to 999.99.

- For short license plates: The locality code of registration and the license plate registration series are placed in the middle of the upper row of the license plate. The 5-number group in the lower row is the registration order, symmetrically arranged with the number and letter group in the upper row of the license plate.

- Example: On the illustrated license plate in Figure 7:

+ 20 indicates the locality code where the registration was done.

+ LD indicates the registration series used for vehicles of foreign-invested enterprises, vehicles of foreign companies winning bids.

+ 226.22 is the registration order of the vehicle.

* Size of letters and numbers on the license plate:

- Height of letters and numbers: 73 mm.

- Width of letters and numbers: 32 mm.

- Thickness of letters and numbers: 10 mm.

- Size of dash (-): 20 x 10 mm.

- Spacing between letters and numbers: 10 mm. The spacing between numbers and the number 1 is 20 mm.

* Regarding the registration order of motorcycles for joint ventures and projects:

- Motorcycles with engine capacity below 50 cm3 have a registration order from 000.01 to 400.00.

- Motorcycles with engine capacity from 50 cm3 to below 175 cm3 have a registration order from 400.01 to 900.00.

- Motorcycles with engine capacity from 175 cm3 or higher have a registration order from 900.01 to 999.99.
