Latest Admission Criteria for Military School

Circular 24/2018/TT-BQP was issued by the Ministry of Finance to amend and supplement several articles of Circular 17/2016/TT-BQP and Circular 42/2017/TT-BQP detailing and guiding the implementation of recruitment into Military schools.

Criteria for Reviewing Admissions Standard Criteria for Military Schools According to New Regulations as follows:

1. The Military Enrollment Board of the Ministry of Defense decides the Admissions Standard Criteria for the schools.

2. Implement a unified admissions standard for both military personnel and civilians; implement distinct admission standards according to each subject combination, according to the North-South regions, or according to each military zone.

Regulations on the enrollment quota ratio and admission standards according to subject combinations, the North-South regions, or each military zone are as follows:

a) According to subject combinations:

- The enrollment quota for each subject combination exam at the Military Medical Academy: combination B00: 75%, combination A00: 25%. At the Political Officer School: combination C00: 60%, combination A00: 30%, combination D01: 10% relative to the total annual enrollment quota;- Academies and schools with concurrent selection of 02 subject combinations: A00 and A01: Implement a unified admission standard for both subject combinations A00 and A01;- The enrollment quota of the Border Defense Academy according to subject combination A01: Not more than 25% of the total quota.- Military Science Academy: Implement a unified admission standard for the same type of male or female candidates for the sectors concurrently recruiting the combinations: combination D01 and D02 for the Russian Language sector; combination D01 and D04 for the Chinese Language sector.

b) According to North-South regions or each military zone:

- The Border Defense Academy recruits 45% of candidates with permanent residency in the North (from Quang Binh province onward); candidates with permanent residency in the southern provinces are determined according to each military zone: Military Zone 4 (Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces): 04%, Military Zone 5: 14%, Military Zone 7: 17%, Military Zone 9: 20%;- The Infantry Officer School 2 determines the admission standard according to each southern military zone with the ratio: Military Zone 4 (Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces): 03%, Military Zone 5: 37%, Military Zone 7: 35%, Military Zone 9: 25%;- The Military Technical Officer School (Vin - Hem Pich) recruits 40% of candidates with permanent residency in the North, 60% of candidates with permanent residency in the South;- Academies: Logistics, Navy and Officer schools: Engineering, Information, Political, and Special Force recruit 65% of candidates with permanent residency in the North, 35% with permanent residency in the South;- Military Medical Academy, Air Defense - Air Force Academy, and Officer schools: Artillery, Tank - Armor, Chemical recruit 70% of candidates with permanent residency in the North, 30% with permanent residency in the South;- Military Technical Academy recruits 80% of candidates with permanent residency in the North, 20% with permanent residency in the South;- Military Science Academy:- Technical Reconnaissance sector recruits 75% of candidates with permanent residency in the North, 25% with permanent residency in the South;- International Relations on Defense and foreign language training sectors: Implement a unified admission standard for the same type of male or female candidates nationwide.- The Air Force Officer School implements a unified admission standard for candidates nationwide.

3. Quotas for direct admission and priority direct admission within the total quota of each military zone or according to the two North-South regions. Candidates for direct admission and priority direct admission with permanent residency in a specific area, if admitted, will be counted into the quota of that area.
