The Vietnam Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has just issued Circular 17/2015/TT-BLDTBXH providing guidance on the collection, storage, and synthesis of labor market information.
Under Article 6 of Circular 27/2015/TT-BLDTBXH, the time for collecting labor market information in Vietnam is July 1 each year. The duration for collecting information is 30 days, starting from the collection time.

Labor supply information collectors are workers.
The information to be collected includes:
- Demographics including information on full name, gender, date of birth, ethnicity.
- General education level.
- Technical and vocational education, field of education and training.
- Participation in economic activities:
+ For employed persons, collect information on employment status, current job, workplace, type of economy;
+ For unemployed persons, collect information on prior employment or never employed, period of unemployment.
- Non-economic activities due to specific reasons.
This Circular stipulates that the labor market database consists of two parts: the Labor Supply Database and the Labor Demand Database:
The Labor Supply Database includes basic information on demographics, general education level, technical and vocational education, field of education and training, and economic activity status of workers.
The Labor Demand Database includes basic information on the type and sector of business, labor utilization, and labor demand of employers.
