Hanoi-Vietnam: Lighting power density in energy-consuming buildings

On December 28, 2017, the Vietnam Ministry of Construction issued Circular 15/2017/TT-BXD promulgating the National Technical Regulation on Energy Efficiency Buildings.

The Lighting power density in energy-consuming buildings in Vietnam is stipulated by Circular 15 through the following table:

NOTES:

- (*) Items within the types of buildings under the scope of the Regulations;

- LPD is calculated by dividing the total lighting power according to the design by the total usable floor area;

- For buildings that include multiple functional uses (mixed-use buildings): LPD is determined according to the lighting power and usable floor area for each type;

- For areas or sections with special lighting requirements in educational and medical facilities: LPD is based on the applied design standards;

- For residential buildings, instead of applying the LPD regulations in the table, energy-labeled lighting devices must be used according to current regulations.

Details may be found in Circular 15/2017/TT-BXD effective from June 1, 2018.
