The People's Health Protection Law 1989 was promulgated on June 30, 1989. One of the fundamental contents stipulated in this document is the guiding principles for health protection work.
To be specific, according to the provisions of the Law on Protection of People's Health 1989, the guiding principles of health protection include:
Strengthening propaganda and hygiene education among the people; implementing preventive measures, improving and cleaning the living environment; ensuring labor hygiene standards, food and drinking water hygiene standards as prescribed by the Council of Ministers.
Expanding the network of rest homes, convalescent homes, and physical training and sports facilities; combining labor and study with rest and recreation; developing mass sports to maintain and restore labor capacity.
Perfecting, enhancing the quality, and developing the network of epidemic prevention and control, medical examination, and treatment; combining the development of the state healthcare system with collective and private healthcare.
Building Vietnamese medicine by inheriting and developing traditional national medicine and pharmacy; combining modern medicine and pharmacy with traditional national medicine and pharmacy, researching and applying scientific and technical advances of world medicine into the reality of Vietnam, building the spearheads of Vietnamese medical and pharmaceutical sciences.
These contents are stipulated in Article 2 of the Law on Protection of People's Health 1989, which took effect on July 11, 1989.
