Criteria for Conferring the Title "People's Physician"

Decree 41/2015/ND-CP stipulates that the title "People's Physician" is conferred on physicians who have been awarded the title "Excellent Physician" by the State and meet the following criteria:

- Loyal to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; complying well with the guidelines and policies of the Communist Party and the laws of the State, the rules and regulations of the agency, unit, organization, and locality.

- Possessing good moral character, dedicated to the profession, compassionate towards patients, trusted and respected by the people, patients, and colleagues.

- Talented with significant achievements in disease prevention, medical treatment, and the development of medical science and technology, with substantial contributions to the cause of protecting and improving the health of the people. Specifically:

- Leading at least 01 project, subject, or scientific and technological project at the ministerial, provincial level or above that has been accepted; or leading at least 01 initiative applied in the medical field and certified by the Initiative Council at the ministerial or provincial level; or being the author or co-author of at least 01 patent applied in the medical field and granted an exclusive patent by the National Office of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Science and Technology.- Awarded the Labor Medal or the National Defense Medal or the Victory Medal from third class or above, or has been awarded the title of National Emulation Soldier or a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam and at least twice awarded the title of Emulation Soldier at the ministerial or provincial level.

- Having at least 20 years of direct technical expertise in the field; for medical management cadres, at least 25 years in the field, of which at least 15 years are directly involved in technical expertise.
