On December 30, 2015, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam issued Circular 17/2015/TT-BVHTTDL regulating anti-doping measures in sports activities. It took effect on March 1, 2016.

Circular 17/2015/TT-BVHTTDL stipulates the process of doping tests for all athletes:
- The General Department of Sports and Physical Training requires doping tests for all athletes.
- The organizing committee of the sports competition requires doping tests for athletes participating in the competition.
- The Vietnam Olympic Committee, Vietnam Paralympic Association, national sport federations, associations, and organizations using athletes require doping tests for athletes under their management.
The Center for Doping and Sports Medicine has the following responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a plan to collect doping test samples;
- The collection, preservation of samples, and doping tests are carried out according to the technical procedures of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Individuals authorized by competent agencies to collect doping test samples must have a certification meeting the technical qualifications for doping test sample collection issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency or the Center for Doping and Sports Medicine.
- The Center for Doping and Sports Medicine retains and manages information on doping test results according to the technical standards of the World Anti-Doping Agency.
- Within 5 working days from the date of receiving the doping test results, the Center for Doping and Sports Medicine shall notify the test results in writing to:
