Circular 09/2017/TT-BLDTBXH: Exemption, Retention of Academic Results

1. Exemption, reduction, and temporary postponement of the National Defense and Security Education course shall be implemented in accordance with the regulations on organizing, teaching, and evaluating the results of the National Defense and Security Education course issued by the Ministry of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs.

2. Exempt from study, exempt from exams for course completion, module, and graduation exams in the school's program in cases where the student has been recognized for graduating from an equivalent level program, including courses, modules, or graduation exams with passing grades recognized as equivalent to the courses, modules, and graduation exams in the school's program.

3. Exempt from study, exempt from exams for course completion, exempt from graduation exams for the Political course within the common courses in cases where the student has graduated from an equivalent level program or has a diploma, certificate of graduation from the intermediate, advanced political theory program, or equivalent.

4. Exempt from study, exempt from exams for course completion of the Foreign Language course within the common courses in cases where the student already has a foreign language certificate equivalent to level 3 according to the 6-level Foreign Language Proficiency Framework for Vietnam issued by the Ministry of Education and Training.

5. Exempt from study, exempt from exams for course completion of the Computer Science course within the common courses in cases where the student achieves the school's entry-level test standard for basic information technology skills according to the regulations of the Ministry of Information and Communications.

6. Exempt from study, exempt from exams for course completion of the Physical Education course within the common courses in cases where the student is a war invalid or has chronic diseases that limit motor functions; students who, during their school time, achieve first, second, or third place or win medals in sectoral or provincial level sports competitions or higher.

7. Students with disability certification according to the Law on Persons with Disabilities will be considered and decided by the principal for exemption, reduction of study in certain courses, modules, or exemption, reduction of certain content and educational activities that the individual cannot meet.

8. Retaining grades, recognizing study results

- Students are allowed to retain grades and recognize study results of courses, modules that meet requirements from the school’s training program, the transferred school in case of school transfer, and one of the two schools implementing joint training in case of dual program enrollment;- The retention period for study results shall not exceed 5 years.

9. Students who wish to be exempted or retain study results must submit a request for the principal's consideration and decision upon enrollment and before each exam period.
