The People's Committee of Nam Dinh Province issued Announcement No. 297/TB-UBND dated December 11, 2024, regarding the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1, 2025, for officials, public employees, and employees.
The People's Committee of the province announces to the administrative bodies, public service units, political organizations, socio-political organizations, enterprises, and other employers the Lunar New Year and National Day holiday schedule for 2025, specifically:
Officials, public employees, and employees of administrative bodies, public service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will have the Lunar New Year holiday from January 25, 2025, to February 2, 2025 (from the 26th day of the twelfth lunar month, Giap Thin year, to the 5th day of the first lunar month, At Ty year).
Civil servants and public employees will have the following holiday schedule: National Day in 2025 from August 30, 2025, to September 2, 2025; Victory Day April 30 and International Labor Day May 1, 2025, from April 30, 2025, to May 4, 2025 (workday rescheduling from Friday, May 2, 2025, to Saturday, April 26, 2025).
During the holiday periods, the People's Committee of the province requests agencies, units, and localities to:
- Display the national flag properly and solemnly. Ensure good environmental sanitation within the premises, residential areas, and public places to create a clean and beautiful environment before and during the holidays.
- Assign officials, public employees, and employees on duty to ensure work continuity, serving the needs of the people and organizations effectively. Agencies and units such as Military, Police, Transportation, Health, Electricity, Post, Water Supply, etc., are to arrange and assign officials, public employees, and employees on duty 24/7 to ensure public security and serve people during the holidays.
Agencies and units that do not follow a fixed weekly break on Saturdays and Sundays will schedule breaks based on specific programs and plans, in compliance with the law.
For employees not covered by Clause 1, employers have the discretion to choose options for the Lunar New Year holiday, National Day holiday, Victory Day April 30, and International Labor Day May 1, 2025, as follows:
- For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose 01 day at the end of the Giap Thin year and 04 days at the beginning of the At Ty year, or 02 days at the end of Giap Thin year and 03 days at the beginning of the At Ty year, or 03 days at the end of Giap Thin year and 02 days at the beginning of the At Ty year.
- For the National Day holiday: Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and choose one of the following days: Monday, September 1, 2025, or Wednesday, September 3, 2025.
- Notify employees of the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holiday 2025 plan at least 30 days in advance.
- If weekly rest days coincide with the holiday as stipulated in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019, employees are entitled to a compensatory weekly rest day following the next working day as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code 2019.
- Employers are encouraged to adopt the same Lunar New Year, National Day, Victory Day, and International Labor Day holiday schedule for employees as applied to officials and public employees.
Other holidays and Tet holidays shall be implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code 2019.
