Vietnam: New points on work-trip allowances for officials

Circular No. 40/2017/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam deals with work-trip allowances and conference expenditures applicable to regulatory agencies, public service providers, political organizations, socio-political organizations, other organizations or associations funded by state budget (hereinafter referred to as agencies and units). This Circular amends work-trip allowances for officials on work trips, specifically as follows:

Therefore, according to Vietnam’s new regulations, work-trip allowances for officials have been adjusted to increase an additional VND 50,000 for accommodation allowance and an additional of VND 100,000 for room rental fees. However, the room rental fees paid based on invoices for Ministerial-level leaders and equivalent positions remain unchanged.
